Terraced cottage between the city and the surf. Looking for a London exchange April/May 2017

Introducing

We are currently looking for a London exchange April 28th to May 13th 2017.

About Our Home

Currently ooking for a London exchange April 28th to May 13th 2017 Home is an 1895 terraced cottage, with high ceilings and polished floorboards throughout, in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, halfway between the city and the beaches. We can offer a very clean, comfortable, cosy and welcoming family-friendly home, Build on a slope, the house has level access from the street to the ground floor. On this level there is a sitting room, with a single sofa bed, computer etc, Foxtel tv, and a gas fireplace. Along the hall is the family bathroom (with bathtub) and small bedroom with two bunk beds, then the cottage-style kitchen, in the middle of the house. Through the kitchen is the family room/dining, which leads to the deck overlooking the courtyard downstairs. The main bedroom is upstairs off the kitchen and has a king sized bed (which could be made up as two singles). There are limited views of the city, and on a clear day the Blue Mountains can be seen in the far distance. This room has an en-suite shower room. Just a note of caution, because the bedrooms here are on different levels, if you have very young children you may feel the need to have them sleep upstairs with you, in a travelcot or mattress on the floor (plenty of room). Downstairs, at courtyard level, is a self-contained studio flat, which can be accessed independent access through the garage. It is occupied by a lady doctor 3-4 weeknights, as she works at Randwick hospital and goes home to her family at weekends.

Our Location

Queens Park is in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, and within five minutes walk are all the shops, cafes, restaurants and facilities you would need, including the prestigious Westfield Mall, Bondi Junction. Trains (3km/4 metro stops to city) and buses (20 mins ride to city or Circular Quay) are within ten minutes walk. Centennial Park and Queens Park are a further five minutes walk, whereas half an hour's walk, maximimum, takes you to either Bronte, Tamarama or Bondi beaches. should you prefer to drive there, we have a car parking permit, or you can catch a bus. Often we walk to Bronte Beach for a coffee, then along the fantastic cliff top walkway to Bondi Beach, perhaps stopping for lunch at Icebergs swimming club, then we walk home along Bondi Road. Or you can walk straight down to Tamarama Beach, then left or right along the cliff to Bondi or Bronte - the choice is yours!

Other Comments

We are retired couple ex air-traffic controller, and ex-teacher, with a variety of interests. We moved from England to Sydney to be near our son and his family once the grand children starter to arrive. We have exchanged homes many times over the years, ever since our children were little, and now our daughter and partner carry on the family tradition with their home in London. They have room for us when we visit but we do like our own space, hence the need for a regular home exchange within easy reach of their place.
