Introducing

Maureen and Zigmar (Zig) a retired couple. I'm a Scot and he's a Swede. Daughter and family on Gold coast so looking for a longer stay

About Our Home

Spacious open plan living downstairs, second cosy lounge and bedrooms on upper floor. Bathroom on each floor. Very light with large windows. As most Scandinavian homes are, it's fully insulated to deal with cold winters but if you want to up the cosy atmosphere, use the wood fire (you'll roast!) Sunroom on the ground floor for your Christmas tree but not for you Nov to Feb as it's uninsulated!

Our Location

Located a 30 min walk from the centre of historical Lund the area is popular with young families because of its proximity to wonderful recreational areas. Lund Cathedral is famous for its medieval clock (just like the one in Prague) and there is a mixture of medieval and modern architecture in the town. Lots of cafés, restaurants, theatres, cinema, museums, shops etc. A five minute walk takes you to the bus stop for town. From the photos you will see you can skate within 5 mins of the house or sledge within 10 mins of house. Skiing also possible but this is not the alps!

Other Comments

From Lund you can easily travel to Copenhagen (40 mins), Malmö (20 mins), Helsingör (Hamlet's castle) or Ystad (famous in the Wallander films) by train or car using the famous bridge from the TV series. Should you wish to travel elsewhere in Europe or the UK, Copenhagen airport has flights to many destinations, including those with budget airlines. The weather in this part of Sweden is usually around 20 - 25 degrees in the summer (can reach 30) and in the winter around freezing but can dip below, We are only interested in home swapping with the Gold Coast area of Australia
